Giulio Draetta, Ph.D., M.D., professor in Molecular and Cellular Oncology

Draetta arrived at MD Anderson in 2011 to direct the Institute for Applied Cancer Science. He previously was deputy director of the Belfer Institute for Applied Cancer Science and chief research business development officer at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.
Draetta oversees the moon shots platforms, which provide expertise, infrastructure and technology to support the program, and will focus on opportunities to develop new diagnostic tools and therapies. At IACS now and previously at the Belfer Institute and in the private sector Draetta’s focus has been on drug discovery and development.
